North American Style-Full Size

North American style kayaks are more forgiving than both the Greenland and British styles. Added width and depth improves storage capacity and makes them more comfortable with larger cockpits that are easy to enter and exit for larger paddlers. Some paddlers prefer a snugger fit than these provide.

North American style kayaks are more forgiving than both the Greenland and British styles. Added width and depth improves storage capacity and makes them more comfortable with larger cockpits that are easy to enter and exit. New paddlers will find these kayaks easier to become accustomed to.

       British Style

British Style kayaks are similar to Greenland style in a more moderate form. They are slighty wider in relation to their length and while they are low profile, they have a higher foredeck. They come with a medium sized cockpit and a higher deck that provides the paddler a bit more leg room and storage capacity. Very well suited for high wind conditions and rough waters.

       Greenland Style

Greenland Style kayaks have very low profile decks and are quite narrow for their length. They have a sharp hard chine which gives these kayaks high intial stability. Greenland style kayaks are highly capable in rough waters, quite maneuverable, and well suited for special paddling techiniques. The trade-off is that the small cockpit and low, narrow hull may be too snug for larger paddlers and also limits their gear capacity.
