BELL CANOE WORKS

There's a reason why most Bell owners don't own just one Bell. All of our canoes — regardless of solo or tandem, Royalex® or composite — have the Bell feel. The sensation of paddling a Bell creates what we like to call "the Bell Experience." While that may mean something a little different to different people, we encourage you to paddle a Bell canoe and find out for yourself.

The Bell Experience is part of everything we do as a company. Each of our designs is the result of a collaboration between our company founder, Ted Bell, and designer, David Yost. Ted is a former nationally ranked canoe racer. David is arguably the most prolific designer of human-powered paddle craft in the world. Add to that the decades of accrued expertise offered by our paddle partners like Cliff Jacobson, Karen Knight, and Bob Foote and you end up with some exceptionally well-rounded designs.

Finally, the Bell Experience is enjoyed by you, our customer. Feedback from Bell paddlers has been rolling in via letters, email, and phone calls since the first boat was built in 1988. We enjoy all the trip reports, photos, comments, and suggestions. Consumer input helps us incorporate changes and improvements when necessary. Our experience shows that Bell canoe owners are a discriminating group. We take every effort to keep existing Bell paddlers happy and to share the Bell Experience with more new canoeists every year. That's one advantage of being a small, personable canoe company — change can happen immediately.

TOURING
Northshore

The Northshore puts the family back into paddling. With two, three, four and five seating options, there's room for everyone.
Northwoods

Judge not by the size of the boat but the size of the water paddled. Okay, and the size of the boat.
Northwind

Just the two of you. Somewhere deep in the Canadian woods. Stars. Wine out of tin cups. A tent. The Northwind.
Northstar

A trimmed beam provides hull speed equal to boats a foot longer. The Northstar tracks, glides and turns with minimal effort.
Seliga Tripper

Joe Seliga design paired with our KevLight™ laminate results in an inspiring rendition of a classic wilderness tripping canoe.
Chestnut Prospector

A refined version of the original Prospector canoe designed exclusively for Bell.

SOLO TOURING
Magic

A solo favorite. Covers distances effortlessly and slices through wind and waves with the control and maneuverability of a much shorter boat.
Merlin II

The differential rocker provides crisp tracking and efficient correction in wind and waves. Ideal for solo paddling excursions.
Yellowstone Solo

Whoever came up with this "jack of all trades, master of none" thing is someone who never set their rear down in a Yellowstone Solo canoe.

RIVER TOURING
Alaskan

Solidly built, responsive ride with room for all the things that you might actually want to take from the frontcountry to the backcountry.
Morningstar

A sweet, nimble canoe that is at home on just about any type of water in either solo or tandem configurations.
Yellowstone

Speedy and stable for river paddling, yet still capable of skating across flatwater loaded with gear.
Yellowstone Solo

Whoever came up with this "jack of all trades, master of none" thing is someone who never set their rear down in a Yellowstone Solo canoe.

SPECIALTY
Angler

Patience. Patience. Nothing is more crucial to a fisherman than patience. Of course, patience comes a lot easier when you're seated in the swivel seat of your Bell Angler canoe.
Roy Roy 12

A classic 150-year-old design recreated in a modern composite with a padded seat, a comfy, high backrest and a nice wide-open cockpit.
Bucktail

Ever find yourself at the mouth of a mysterious cove or trout-holding stream only to be thwarted by the girth of your canoe?
Roy Roy 15

A longer version of the Rob Roy 12 - a modern composite design with a padded seat and a comfy, high backrest and wide-open cockpit.

WHITEWATER
Ocoee

Arguably the most sought after Royalex® whitewater canoe, period.
Nexus

All the performance attributes of the Prodigy but in a hull scaled for two paddlers. Also makes a great whitewater river tripper for one.
Prodigy

What if you're not so young? Can you still paddle the Prodigy? Depends. Can you handle acceleration and glide?
Prodigy X

The same acceleration and glide of the Prodigy, but in a boat scaled for larger-framed paddlers.
